Technical Manager

Based at Luton offices (next to Luton Airport near Junction 10, M1)

 

Responsibilities

  • To work in the Engineering Office supporting the broad range of technical requirements of the company
  • To assist/design special purpose handling and conveyor systems including all aspects of CE H&S legislation etc
  • To assist/produce manuals and other technical documents
  • To work as part of the team on new product development projects
  • To work as part of the team to improve and develop the Kensal range of products
  • To liaise with customers on specific technical/CE/design requirements

Person

  • Applicants must have experience in the design of conveyors and special purpose machinery for the food and drinks, food automation industry
  • Qualified to at least HND or Degree (preferred) standard with at least 10 years design experience, and conversant with AutoCad Inventor & Lt
  • Familiar with current CE & H&S legislation
  • Familiarity with designing and producing stainless steel sheet metal fabrications
  • Self-motivated and be able to ensure cost effective and best practice designs are produced within short lead times
  • Capable of working alone or as part of the design team
  • Assisting the sales/proposal team in evaluating customer requirements, and ensuring we produce design schemes that are compatible with our manufacturing facilities/capabilities
  • Some customer and supplier contact will also be required

Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

Based Luton office & on customer's sites countrywide

Responsibilities

  • To manage the range of Kensal projects, from order through planning, installation, commissioning to sign off.
  • Manage installation crew ensuring all aspects of customer requirements are communicated  including H&S, site/working practices etc,
  • Reporting daily/weekly, ensuring the status of projects are communicated and on schedule.
  • Give technical support to the Sales Team, as and when required
  • Directly liase with clients re current and future projects
  • Monitor and report the status of projects to the Management Team.
  • Office based/site based, approx 25/75%

 Person

  • Experience within the Food & Beverage handling/packaging industry,
  • Be computer literate, MS Office, MS Project, CAD etc
  • Be commercially aware
  • Understand Health and Safety, CDM, Risk Assessments, Method Statements etc
  • Must have practical conveyor/machinery installation, experience
  • Have a technical/design knowledge of manufacturing equipment & processes
  • Live within commuting distance of Kensal Handling Systems main office
  • Experienced in conducting site surveys and applying these to CAD layouts
  • Know how to ensure project details, practical and commercial, are managed
  • HNC/Degree Engineering Qualifications or similar
  • NEBOSH qualified preferred
  • Be comfortable with clients and competent to help the Sales Team

The successful candidate will spend a short period of time shadowing the Project Manager to familiarise themselves with Kensal’s equipment and methods
